We're in February already; for many people, the new year's resolutions have already worn off. There are many reasons why these promises don't work long-term. One is that you decide right in the middle of the coldest and darkest season to dedicate more time to training, to be on top of nutrition, and generally become better organized. Us humans have a habit of wanting things now. We don't want to wait. We want results like yesterday. That's usually the case for people on a weight loss plan. Most of our clients start like that and realize that consistency is more critical to their long-term success than how fast they lose body fat. Many people dread the holidays, as they fear putting on too much weight or not being able to enjoy themselves. However, it does not need to be a case of losing weight OR enjoying the holiday period. It is possible to do both! In our recent blog on the principles of building muscle for women, we introduced the concept of the RPE Scale. This is something that many personal trainers learn about when acquiring their certification. |
